Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Smith was born in Northern California to a family of dog lovers. When she was 5 years old, her parents bought her a children’s veterinary play kit, and from then on, there was no looking back. At the age of 7, she developed an interest in horses and volunteered at a therapeutic ranch for troubled teens for several years.
After graduating college with a B.A. in biology, Dr. Smith attended veterinary medical at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she pursued a specialty track in animal reproduction. Once she received her DVM degree, she completed an internship at the largest mixed animal practice in Texas, gaining experience in mixed animal reproduction and emergency medicine, as well as equine sports medicine and neonatal care. Dr. Smith then
completed a residency in comparative animal reproduction at the University of Florida, before moving back to the DFW area.
While her primary interest is reproduction, she also enjoys emergency medicine and managing endocrine disease.
In her spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys riding reining and working cow horses, training her ICSI foal, and hiking with her Australian Shepherd.
